Here are a few steps you can take when your cash drawer does not open.
First of all check the light indicator on the top of the cash drawer. Is there a red light or blue light? Are they blinking or static?
1. Red light - static : The printer on the left hand side has not been properly closed. Press on it to make sure that it is completely closed.
2. Red light - blinking : The printer on the left hand side is out of paper.
3. Blue light - static : The drawer has power and is ready to be connected.
4. No light : The cash drawer has no power.
If the cash drawer has a blue static light :
The cash drawer is connected to the tablet via Bluetooth and there should be a clear indicator of that connection in the Salescloud App. At the top right corner the status "Connecting" or "Connected" will tell you if the drawer and tablet are connected. If it just continous to state "Connecting" it is a good first step to restart the drawer by shutting it off with a switch on the bottom left hand side. After the drawer has been restarted, close the Salescloud POS app by pressing the three lines on bottom left corner of the tablet and swipe the SC app up. Then re-open the app but 98% of the time this will connect the two.
