When your kitchen printer does not print

The kitchen printer is the heart of the restaurant business. If it stops working everything stops working. Here are some tips to getting back to working order.

The kitchen printers are always connected via an ethernet cable. This is to ensure a stable connection.

Both the printer and tablets must be on the same network to work.

A restart of the printer and a log out and in to the POS can fix alot.

You can identify the status of the printer by the lights on the front.

There are two lights(three if it has bluetooth): Power light on the left and a ethernet light on the right.

  • The power light will be blue and stable when the device has power and paper.
  • The power light will blink red when there is no paper or an issue with the printing mechanism.
  • The ethernet light will blink green if the printer is trying to get an ip address
  • The ethernet light wil be stable if it's connected to the internet
  • The ethernet light wil not turn on if there is no power through the ethernet connection.
